Which hope we have as an ANCHOR of the soul...     both SURE and STEADFAST

On Christ the Solid Rock we stand!

Our Mission. To share the Good News of knowing Jesus Christ in the local high and low alpine, throughout the opportunities he's given in his awesome created wilderness environments.

The love of  Christ compels us. As a ministry first and foremost, we exsist to unashamedly share our hope in Jesus Christ alone, and his Gospel of grace, as the SOLID ROCK that we rest in and on. For us EVERYTHING is built upon this ANCHOR. It truly is the knowledge of God's great love for us "that compels us."

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it (the gospel message itself) is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek..." Romans 1

Our Other Objectives.

1. To get people outside.

The two places in which God our Creator has clearly and specifically revealed himself to ALL of mankind, is first in his natural and wild created environments, AND secondly in and through his WRITTEN WORD. These are the very two places that mankind is spending 'exponentially less and less' personal time in. One of our main hopes and goals is to SIMPLY GET PEOPLE OUTSIDE and into more wilderness experiences, and then into his Word.

2. Fight Creation Deficite Disorder (CDD).

A phrase we  began tossing out in fun over 15 years ago, as we noticed even back then, more and more outing participants seeming increasingly overwelmed by realtively insignificate and quite "normal" matters of life, spending way unproportionate amounts of time and emotion "majoring in the minors". In recent years, (no suprise!) the American Medical Association has actually put Nature Deficit Disorder on their books as a "medical condition" one may receive drugs, counseling, and time off for. Imagine that! People actually NEED to intentionally get outside, be outside, and AGAIN learn to enjoy being outside. The God who created us, created us to be nearer nature and INTENDED that we see and experience him there, and in doing so also receive the mental, emtional, and physical goodness and health beneifts as well. Spending regular time out in "wilderness" places is good for EVERYONE. Good for the body, mind, and soul!

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse..." Romans 1

3. Train up and equip Christian Outdoor Leaders.

The outdoor missionfield is wide open. With people increasingly spending less and less time in the natural and wilder environments, the need for outdoor "leaders" is now greater than any time in all of history. God has blessed and equiped us to serve and guide others outside for more than 28 years. He's given us specific experience, wisdom, and specific tools to do so over the years. We here at Climbers With Christ sense the need to be intentionally seeking any opportunities that will allow us to pass on "outdoor ministry skills", not just hiking, rock climbing, and/or mountaineering skills, but many of which used to be part of most american's "natural" upbringing. EVERY OUTING, not just our Christian Outdoor Leadership (COL) seminars and guide trainings, have become opportunities we use to instill these once basic "outdoor leadership skills", and plant the seeds  in the hearts and minds of hopefully many FUTURE OUTDOOR SERVANTS AND LEADERS.

Ministry Guidelines

God's written Word. We believe that God has clearly and quite difinatively spoken to each and everyone of us, and to each and every one of life's questions, problems, and concerns in the pages of his perfect and inspired written Word - the BIBLE. We believe that through the power and understanding of his Spirit, ALL born again children of his are thereby able to understand and discern the truth of his Word personally. We believe that we can hold in our very hands his "supernatural book",  a book that has been perfectly preserved for us and (at least in the Authorized King James Version) is beyond proven error. His word has proven itself faithful over and over and over to us AND to ALL his children who'll simply trust in what he has said in simple faith. Here at Climbers With Christ, God's WRITTEN WORD is our GREATEST of all physical, spiritual, and emotional ANCHORS!

God's word defines ALL of our practices as a people and as an outdoor ministry. We don't need to write it ALL down, he already did in his book. We try and model what we DO and HOW we conduct ourselves and as a ministry as he has written.

"...the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." Jesus - John 6

"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." Psalms 12

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you." 1 Peter 1
